Belinda Carlisle Grooves, Jerry Cantrell Shreds and Chad Kroeger Rocks at Sammy Hagar’s Epic Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo Cantina

Cabo San Lucas was on fire this past weekend as the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar, threw his annual Birthday Bash at his world-famous Cabo Wabo Cantina, turning the heart of downtown into the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll playground.

🎸 A Birthday Party Like No Other

For decades, Hagar’s Birthday Bash has been a bucket-list experience for fans who score one of the few coveted tickets. And this year? It might’ve been the best one yet.

The weekend kicked off with pure magic as pop icon Belinda Carlisle took the stage to belt out her forever hit, “We Got the Beat.” Dancing alongside Hagar, Carlisle was every bit the rock star — spinning, smiling, and spreading that infectious energy the packed cantina couldn’t get enough of. Guitar legend Stevie Salas joined the duo, bringing his signature funk-driven riffs that had the crowd roaring.

Then came a jaw-drop moment when Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains fame took the mic for a rare vocal performance of “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love,” his all-time favorite Van Halen tune. Later, Hagar flipped the script, tearing into “Man in the Box” with a gritty, growling edge that proved the Red Rocker still knows how to blow the roof off the place.

🤘 Surprise Guests and Wild Moments

As if that weren’t enough, Howard Stern Show favorite Steve Nowicki, a self-proclaimed lifelong Van Halen fan, was invited onstage to jam with the band on “5150” and “Best of Both Worlds.” Spoiler: he nailed it. Carlisle was spotted later from the VIP deck, singing along and dancing to “Why Can’t This Be Love.”

The celebration rolled right into Monday — Sammy’s official birthday — with even more surprises. Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger cranked out “Enter Sandman” by Metallica, whipping the crowd into a frenzy. Molly Sides from Thunderpussy delivered a killer take on the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party),” and Anthrax frontman Joey Belladonna brought serious heat with “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin.

Cantrell returned for a haunting performance of “Rooster,” while Carlisle brought everyone to their feet again with “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” — and a final encore of “We Got the Beat.” The night ended in true Cabo Wabo fashion: with Hagar sharing his birthday cake with fans lucky enough to be in the front row.

🍹 Santo Tequila, Legendary Friends & Nonstop Vibes

Throughout the weekend, the crew kept spirits high (literally) with rounds of Santo Tequila, Hagar’s ultra-smooth, small-batch tequila brand co-created with Guy Fieri. The drinks were flowing, the guitars were screaming, and the energy never dipped for a second.

Backing Hagar were his powerhouse bandmates — Vic Johnson on guitar, Kenny Aronoff on drums, and fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Michael Anthony on bass. Together, they delivered a set packed with Van Halen hits, deep cuts, and Cabo Wabo anthems that turned the 600-capacity cantina into pure rock ‘n’ roll heaven.

🌴 Cabo Wabo: Where Rock Lives Every Night

For the lucky fans who made it inside, the Birthday Bash wasn’t just a concert — it was an experience. Hagar has been celebrating his birthday at Cabo Wabo since the early ’90s, and every year, the party somehow gets bigger, louder, and more unforgettable.

This year’s bash came on the heels of Sammy’s new live album, “Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency,” recorded during his explosive Las Vegas run at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Featuring Van Halen favorites and deep cuts, the album captures the same energy that makes Cabo Wabo shows legendary.

And the party’s not over — fans can catch Hagar and The Best of All Worlds when they return to Dolby Live in Las Vegas for 11 epic shows in March and September 2026 get your tickets now, linked here.
