Celebrate National Rum Day Sammy Hagar’s Way with Specialty Cocktails at Cabo Wabo Cantina

Cabo Wabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar’s rockin’ Strip-side restaurant located inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will honor National Rum Day on Wednesday, Aug. 16 with refreshing cocktails made with Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co.’s sparkling rum cocktails in a can.

Bringing the flavors of Puerto Rico to the Las Vegas Strip, the refreshing Sunset Dreams cocktail is made with Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, orange curaçao, grenadine, Coco Lopez, orange and pineapple juices, topped with a can of Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co.’s tangerine dream flavored sparkling rum cocktail. Priced at $18, the Sunset Dreams cocktail will be available exclusively for the holiday.

A variety of Cabo Wabo’s signature cocktails made with Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum will also be featured to honor the day. They include the Maui Rocker, made with Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, orange curacao, pineapple juice, grenadine and sweet and sour; the CW Mai Tai, made with Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, Sailor Jerry rum, orgeat, tropical juices and grenadine, topped with a float of Myers’s Rum; Sammy’s Toasted Colada, a combination of Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, Coco Lopez and pineapple juice, served on the rocks in a glass garnished with freshly toasted coconut; Key Lime Martini, made with Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, Ke Ke liqueur, lime juice and a hint of banana; and Can’t Drive 55, a combination of Cabo Wabo Blanco tequila, Sammy’s Beach Bar platinum rum, vodka, gin, lime, orange, pineapple and cranberry juice, topped with Disaronno Amaretto.

Cabo Wabo’s complete menu of signature appetizers and dishes are flavorful complements to the refreshing rum libations. Favorites include shredded chicken taquitos with a house cheese blend, crema Mexicana, cotija cheese and guacamole; Sammy’s Tequila Shrimp, made with Baja shrimp, garlic and Cabo Wabo’s signature tequila-lime sauce, served with Mexican dirty rice; carne asada tacos, corn tortillas filled with grilled steak, salsa arbol, avocado, cilantro and onions; and the nacho platter, topped with a house cheese blend, beans, jalapeños, queso sauce, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole; among others.
